A planned re-creation of the original studio scale Battlestar Galactica filming miniature.

At nearly 76" in length, this miniature will feature all the detailing found on the original TV filming miniature, as well the improved electronics used to make the lighting a "cool-light" ( LED type ) system, as well as the chase circuits used in both landing bays. Custom Replicas' is employing the creative modeling services of Mark Dickson to design, fabricate, and assemble this miniature. Custom Replicas will be molding and producing the hard to find kit parts shown in the Phase 1 section below. This is a planned 5 to 6 month assignment, with completion scheduled for early summer 2008.

PHASE 1 - DESIGN & PARTS FABRICATION

This section of the portfolio focuses on the start-up efforts employed to begin the long term processes for a build-up as complicated as this project demands. Key features are the many necessary parts both in plastic styrene kits, as well as the re-production and casting of key hard to find kit parts. Along side the kit parts, are the laser cut bulkheads and skins necessary to fleshing out the body and landing bays. All of which relying on an exact armature reproduction, featured in this section too.

PHASE 2 - BODY ASSEMBLY

This section of the portfolio follows the actual build process of the various sections, from the engines forward towards the head.
