60" Engel R/C Nautilus

This German made R/C kit took a lot of converting to get it "sea-worthy", but in the end proved to be a fine submarine for the R/C enthusiast. The portfolio includes some of the highlights of the build-up as well as detail shots. The initial water test run is provided as well.

18" Jupiter 2

Originally a 1997 Icons Authentic Replicas prototype, this 18" version of the classic TV spaceship became finalized in 2002, through an association with Classics Reborn.

Currently, though the prototype has been completed, it remains undecided as to the eventual outcome. This finished prototype resides with Classics Reborn.

studio scale Buck Rogers 1/24 Starfighter ( Thunder fighter )

A copy casting taken from a 1st. generation studio miniature with great care taken to restore lost detailing. This miniature is quite lengthy reaching nearly 22.5", a wingspan of 12.875", and a height of 5.5". Since the original pilot could not be found, a recreation was made to resemble the original TV character, right down to the helmet details.

studio scale Battlestar Galactica 1/24 Colonial Viper

A copy casting taken from a 1st. generation studio miniature, that was originally used to create the now defunct ICONS Authentic Replicas replica. All parts are identical the  ICONS version, including the stand. Paint job based on a hero miniature that was featured in a Battlestar Galactica booklet.

studio scale Battlestar Galactica 1/35 Cylon Raider

A completely scratch recreation using identical to original model kit parts. Recreation taken off 1st. generation copy casting of original hero miniature. Paint job based on a hero miniature that was featured in a Battlestar Galactica booklet and from many internet sites showcasing original research shots.

9.875" Lightcycle from "TRON®"

Based on an SLA ( stereo-lithography apparatus ) produced pattern, this beautifully symmetrical casting captures the virtual essence of the Lightcycle digitally create for the movie. The light-trail and base were added to give the allure of the bike in motion as it was seen on the modular grid riding field.

30 Nautilus profile 1.jpg (26604 bytes)

30.5" movie Nautilus

Another of the now defunct ICONS Authentic Replicas that was commissioned for licensing approval at Disney, then declined due to licensing negotiations. Obtained from master patternmaker, Scott Brodeen, and built up by him, this serves as one of the most rewarding study models ever executed by Custom Replicas. It served as a start-up maquette for our 66" 1/2 scale to original Nautilus.

1/35 scale Lost in Space Jupiter 2 launch site

Completely scratch built to closely resemble the original 1/12 scale Gemini 12 launch site made back in 1965 for the pilot episode of the TV show, "Lost in Space". It features 3 fully lit gantries as well as opening gates that surround the spacecraft cradle.

30" Lunar Models Discovery 1 from "2001: a space odyssey"

An attempt to capture the yet ( circa 1989/90 ) to be realized 2001 collector market. This model kit was the third  in a short line of new kit creations that followed behind the reworked Space-Pod, and newly created Aries 1B. The 30" model featured a matching tiny space pod that could be mounted on the launching platform of the command sphere. This build up served as the promotional for the Discovery 1 campaign.

9" Lunar Models Ark from "When Worlds Collide"

An early build-up request for a Lunar Models patron that served as a promotional piece for the early Lunar Models catalogs and newsletters. It features about 12" of the lift-off track all made from styrene, atop a plastic ( marbleized faux finish ) pedestal. The entire diorama was then mounted to a piece of stained oak.

Batmobile.jpg (67170 bytes)

1/25 Lunar Models Batmobile from ABC's "Batman"

A purely promotional build-up for Lunar Models done circa 1989/90. This revised Futura was a scratch built pattern that Lunar Models created, casted, then forwarded to me for a custom build-up. Though not as accurate as the now easier to find Revell TM Futura kits, it still  holds up as a nice build against a totally custom made background.
