As fantastic an experience the original 66" TOS Enterprise miniature project was, having the chance to go back all these years later and update various portions of the build-up has made for a vastly superior miniature re-creation.

Our first revision was in the general lighting ( the white LEDS ), in that we added individual resistors to each Nichia white LED. We then decided to further aid future servicing of the miniature by adding a slip panel inside the dorsal ( neck ) area, as well as outer saucer perimeter, where tunnels are required to retrieve the LEDs into the center area, just below the removable bridge.

Improvements to the how the bridge connects to upper saucer ( from vacuum-form plastic to thin fiberglass ), also made for easier servicability.

Great care was given to deciphering the original Richard Datin photographs that reveal the early phaser emitter, seen only in the original Enterprise black and white beauty shots. It is removable, via a small hole in the lower sensor nipple, allowing for a before and after type display.

Below are many of the internal pictures showing the changes to the armature and electronics.
